A 'All weather day'

So today the weather forecast said changeable. Well that's an understatement!!

This morning we had a few errands to do, nothing exciting. Then after lunch my daughter 'had plans'.

That just left the two of us, what shall we do, play minecraft all day, sat inside?

I don't think so!!

I wish we  had worn our wellies, just through the trees you can see the old railway bridge, but the ground was too wet to venture onto the grass even for a photo.

My little boy was cycling whilst I walk / jogged behind.

We had lots of sun with plenty of wind, but we did also have some rain, sleet and hail.

Now we just need to eat our orange before anyone else gets home!!

Sunny Bunny

Well the first weekend of the school holidays has nearly gone.

We've had lots of rainy weather in the Ribble Valley.

We had a lovely day visiting family on Saturday and a 'stay at home & do nothing day' today.

I did manage to fit in some 'walking for one', just about managing to stay dry.

And now the sun is shining through my window casting a shadow of my bunny bunting, lots of sunny bunnies.

Here's hoping for lots more sun in the holidays.

Bunny Bunting !

 Easters coming. . .

We need to 'trim up'

Maybe some bunting. . . .

If you want a little bunting for Easter the template is here!

Oooh and look at that blue sky, don't you just love it.

Sunday 22 March 2015

And the sun shone. . . . .

Where has the week gone? Its whizzed by.

We've had lots going on, school, swimming, parents evening, wedding outfit shopping, work, children's party  . . .

Then we had a very cloudy eclipse

But finally the sun has shone.

We went to a beautiful wedding on Saturday (and I didn't break my ankle in shoes with a heal!!)

And today I did my Saturday jobs. The rabbits and guinea pig had a play on fresh grass as I pottered in the green house.

The biscuit tin came out and I've planted sweet peas, broad beans, basil, rudbeckia, poached egg plant, cosmos..... I thinks that's all.

Fingers crossed they hurry up as I'm not very patient with seeds!!

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day.

Today has been a day of the three 'C'

First we had Croissants (in bed, delivered by the children, very nice)

Then I got Cards (also delivered whilst in bed)

Then Cake  (several slices throughout the day !!)

To combat the excess of cake we had a lovely walk.
The children even found a mysterious locked box in the woods.

Eggs, eggs and more eggs

This week I've been pet sitting again.

Today I forgot my wellies and the egg box. So the drive home was slow and steady!!

Yesterday with the influx of extra eggs I did a little bit of baking.

Lemon drizzle cake. . .

It was delicious. . .

Even a slice for packed lunches. . .

And with my cup of tea? No its all gone.

So now I heading for the shop for another lemon, I'll just have to make another!!

Then maybe an omelette for lunch, then maybe something egg based for tea, boiled eggs for breakfast, the list goes on. . . .

Nearly Spring?

Please let it be spring!!!

The garden is generally looking grim at the moment but it does have some pockets of spring time loveliness.

Yesterday was glorious, beautiful sunshine and clear blue skies.
Today is not quite as good.

Today I am patiently waiting for the rain to stop so I can play-out!!
(well not really play, I will be cleaning out the rabbits and guinea pig, but I'm sure you know what I mean)

Thursday 5 March 2015

What a lovely set . . . . .

So this morning after dropping Ron Weasley off at school (World Book Day outfit) to be looked after by a man in a dress, I came home and admired my tins!!

Yes My new lovely set of cake tins.

But something was missing . . . .

Yes cake!!

Nothing fancy, just a boiled fruit cake and

Some jam buns.

I'll tell you something I hate about round cakes, you cant have a sneaky piece without it being obvious, but jam buns. . . . . well maybe just one.
