Paper, paper everywhere. . . .

After our wet trip to the beach we finally dried our when my daughter was sick!

Friday was spent indoors. I did start a little project - PAPERWORK. I hate it, its never organised, I can never find things, its all around the house, do I need to carry on?

I got the box files and added a bit of colour. (spots and red, wow sooo predictable)

By Friday night my daughter was feeling a little better.
So out came the trusty toast!
Then my son was sick,

Saturday I continued through the piles of paper.

Back to school today and finally I finished my organising!!!

Cup of tea time. . . . .

Horizontal rain. . . .

School holidays are not complete without a trip to the beach. When we set off the sun was shining, there was even talk (between the children) about paddling in the sea!!

When we got out of the car the rain had just started, but on we went!!

The tide was moving in and leaving 'treasure' on the beach.

I think the above is a sea anemone shell and below is a sea sponge (I think!!)

The picture below is of a rotting fish which I promised to photograph. I think its a 'boy thing' as it was said to be the best thing about the day.

Lots of egg cases although I prefer the name 'mermaids purse'.

The star fish was as big as a dinner plate.

The photo below really doesn't show the rain, which by this point was almost horizontal.

And yes we did have a little bit of sand in the car!

Back at the car, everyone was soaked but we had a great time.
(and I did bring back a shell, well what are pockets for?)

Snowdrops. . .

Last year, almost to the day I blogged about a snowdrop walk. Well I'm here again but with a different location.

This year we headed over to Bank Hall in Bretherton Lancashire.

I don't think I have ever seen so many snowdrops.

The building is a ruin but still beautiful.

The paths where easy to follow through the woods.

And best of all we had glorious weather.

Hats, scarfs and gloves - not required !!

Blue sky - yes!

Fingers crossed we see some more sun over half term.

Bank Hall is open again this Sunday 23rd February.

Sad times.

This week has been long and difficult.

Sadly last weekend one of our 'school yard' mums died suddenly. She left behind three beautiful children and complete disbelief in our school community that something so terrible could happen.

It highlights how important it is to enjoy every minute of your life. Embrace the mundane, getting the children ready for school, doing homework, brushing hair, even the school run.

Tell your children that you love them.

A Big Birthday !!

So over the weekend we celebrated my 'other halfs' Birthday. Yes it was a big number which we will gloss over. . .

I had planned to, calmly, decorate the cake on Sunday morning before our family started to visit.

Well it wasn't calm at all, we had extra visitors, less time, etc, etc.
Luckily my daughter made the pigs as I shouted instructions whilst tidying up. (Sorry no during photos)

The cake was delicious and all gone by evening!

On my lovely table. . . .

This week my main objective was to keep the table clear of clutter, so no craft projects this week.

My little boy went away for the night with school. For a treat  I made him cake, he really does like a bit of cake!!

Just a Victoria Sandwich cake with icing and sprinkles.

As soon as he arrived back the washing machine was on and today my table is covered in washing (no photo required, most of you will be able to picture it!!)
