Half Term

Half Term is nearly over and its gone super quick!

We've done a lot of nothing.

My Daughter has spent her time revising and sleeping in.

My Son has spent his time on the dreaded technology and spreading around playing with Lego.

Today we had a trip to the 'Beachside' **

Penny loved it, lots of open space, lots of dogs and lots of tangling us up in the lead.

Back to school on Monday (after the boy completes his homework!!)
and luckily for me I have a new work project to start.

On the sewing front, I got the fleece backing for my quilt and its WHITE.

Just how I sew using white fleece with Penny in the house, I'm not sure.
Maybe she needs to visit family for the day!!!

** I'm not sure when the term Beachside started, but my children called the Seaside Beachside when they where little and it stuck. So for our family Seaside will always be Beachside!!!

Moving the sewing off the table. . . . . . .

So if you follow me over on Instagram you'll know I've been doing a little sewing.

I'm not lucky enough to have a dedicated sewing space, so its the dining table or no sewing.

I'd made a sketch, calculated, measured, calculated again, all the time terrified of cutting the fabric and making a mistake.

So the first blocks took a while and needed some fussy cuts.

I did forty eight blocks in total, then trimmed them all to exactly the same size.

With half term starting this afternoon I really needed to sew all my blocks together, then my sewing can be moved off the table!!!

So next its the backing, quilting and binding.
