A bit like a Bird Bath. . . . . .

Day 9

Some days my mind goes blank. What should we do for our wild thing?

We decided to make a simple bird bath, then we will put the camera on it in a few days to see if anyone has taken a dip!!

If there's a lot of activity I might make a proper one which looks less like a plant tray filled with water!!

Also on a wild theme, we have a racing pigeon staying, which I assume  has lost its way. The children have started to feed it, which might delay it returning home.
(But WE ARE NOT keeping it, which is what the children want to do!!)

  2. Cool, you've done a good job there. I have read that you can put a layer of gravel in the botom of the bath so the birds don't slide around. I must say your bird bath is much more impressive than mine, I actually felt embarrassed with my effort lol.

    1. I have some gravel, I'll put some in later. Your bird bath looked fine, I think the birds would probably fly past both baths and chose a puddle!! Sarah

  3. Good job, like Ian says I would pop some small stones in the bottom, birds have been using my pond to bath in, now if I had a Trap camera I could watch what was going on :)

    1. I'd love a pond, we have a fake wooden barrel made of plastic. It's great for a fish, but the sides aren't ideal for birds and there's no shallow end!! Sarah
