The final post of the year.

Well, I can't  believe we're at the end of the year.

December has flown by and my sewing machine has hardly stopped.

I decided that in between making lots of animals, I'd make a fabric gingerbread house.
But not just a gingerbread house, a Moomin Gingerbread house!!

Being self employed for the last ten years plus (As a Design Engineer) I don't normally have a 'works Christmas do'.
But this year I took my social media expert (My Daughter) out for a coffee and we called it the Fabric Taxidermy works Christmas do.

I photographed this little lot for an upcoming exhibition.

With my daughters help, we made lots of origami stars.

I finished the Moomin House and made some tiny Moomins.

And we did lots of Christmas Movie nights.

We did a little bit of sale shopping.

And in preparation for next year I bought a new calendar and diary.
My new mantra - I will be organised in 2020.

This image of our Christmas table, makes Christmas look easy at our house but it isn't.
Don't get me wrong I love Christmas and we've had a lovely time. But behind lots of lovely Christmas images life goes on and not everything in life is smiley!

So looking forward to 2020, all I wish for is a healthy year for all my family.

November

I can't believe its November the 30th already. (warning, photo overload)

Officially an October photo, but look at our little Halloween witch!

This month I've taken some of my animals to the local garden nursery, So Plants.
They've slotted in with all their beautiful decorations.

I've also added some decorations to my Folksy shop.

Lots of extra decorations,

These have been on display at Longridge Library

Along with my animals above.

Penny's been enjoying some lovely walks and she loves a good stiff in all the fallen leaves.

I have spent a lot of time sewing this month,

Beavering away . . . . .

We had a trip to Lancaster and I delivered some more bears to Arteria
(that brown blur is Penny's nose)

In sad news, Margo passed away this month.
She'd had a couple of quiet days but was still playing out and eating.
 Then she was gone.

I added another Triceratops to my Folksy page, grey this time and I'm considering a pink one!!

I don't like asking but if you have a minute to like or follow or share my Facebook page or my Instagram you'd make my day!!

Delivery day again last weekend. A lion to Lancaster.

And two whole bags of animals to Kirkby Lonsdale, Little Owls Emporium

Then we had our Grand Day out in Harrogate.

The Knitting and Stitching Show.

I was on the look out for fabric for my animals.
But I came home with three patterns from Beth Studley at lovefrombeth

And we had a little look in the shops in Harrogate and we visited Sophie Likes
where I bought the lovely star wreath.

Today I'm at home, full of a cold, sipping Lemsip with a huge box of tissues.

Half Term

Half Term has gone in a flash.

We started the week with a lovely visit to Lytham.
(Penny nearly jumped in the fountain, luckily she was on a short lead and my Daughter was quick)

It was glorious, just what we needed!

I've also made another animal. He'll be going on my Folksy shop this week.

The biggest event of the half term break was a trip to Alderhey Childrens Hospital. My son was having treatment for CRMO. We had three days at the hospital, fuelled by junk food (anything to make him happy).
Back home on Friday night.

Saturday was the day to finish off another new animal, my whale.
The debate was barnacles or no barnacles?

Sunday and we all got some extra time in bed (Clocks going back)

But we also had time for a family walk!!
(not sure how happy that made the children)

We headed off to Langden Brook

Penny had a great time, lots of puddles and mud.

After my Sons hospital treatment he has lots of new pains, this time in his ankles, so we didn't walk far.

The next job is to gather together enough animals to put on a display at the local Library.

September into October

Well its been a while since I did any Blogging, but I've been busy.

Lots of sewing has gone on!

The animals above have been packed up .....

and taken to Lancaster.

They are now part of the Wintertide exhibition at Arteria in Lancaster.
I'm so excited to be part of something so special.

In other (not so exciting) news, Me and Penny have attempted to do more walking.
I'm thinking we need some all weather gear because we've had some pretty wet walks so far.

My lovely little garden still has a bit of colour.

And finally, after 9 1/2 years of pink curtains in our living room (previous owners curtains)
I've made some new ones!!
The window is extra wide, so I've 'adjusted' two pairs of curtains to make one pair of BIG curtains.

Another quick catch-up

Just a quick catch-up
(if you don't follow me on Instagram)

Over the last few weeks I've . . . . .

Looked after my Mum and Dads chickens whilst they went on holiday
and I've tried to do a daily walk.

I've been asked to make a Beaver.

I've started and finished some Christmas decorations.

I visited the Harrogate Quilt show and bought a lovely book.
I made the Badger but he's still naked.

I made some mini animal heads, the lion being the favourite.

We visited the beach with Penny and she went in the sea, to above her knees, for the first time.

And lastly, I've spent some time in the garden, just sitting with a cup of tea.
